He was the Financial Specialist in setting up Maldives Pension Office, later served as the Board member of Maldives Pension Office. He has vast experience in Financial sector, filling the positions of Audit Committee Chair in Maldives Transport & contracting Company (MTCC), Maldives Pension office etc. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Master's degree in Financial Business Management from Kingston University, London. He is also Certified Chartered Accountant, and is presently engaged in pursuing a PhD focused on the complexities of dual Banking systems in Islamic Banking at the Management & Science University of Malaysia (MSU).

Earlier in his career, he worked in the Accounts Department at the Ministry of Fisheries & Agriculture.
